Anna Williamson is a popular and experienced TV and radio broadcaster with a particular passion for mental health and emotional wellbeing. She is also no. 1 best-selling author, counsellor, life coach and Master neurolinguistic programming (NLP) practitioner.
She has suffered from severe problems with generalised anxiety disorder in the past and has successfully overcome them. Having attempted to publicly voice her experiences, she felt her first exposure to issues surrounding with public stigma surrounding mental health. She has since made it her personal ambition to fight against removing these stigmas and to help others suffering from anxiety, depression and mental health issues as she did.
Anna has studied and qualified as a certified and accredited counsellor, life coach and Master NLP practitioner. She is also an official ambassador of the major health charity Mind, who offer information and advice to those who suffer from mental health issues. Having obtained these qualifications, she now runs her own private coaching practice to offer help for those who require 1 to 1 coaching sessions.
In 2017, Anna published her own book, Breaking Mad: The Insider’s Guide to Conquering Anxiety, to arm readers with their own methods of combating personal anxiety. Her book was a top hit, becoming a no. 1 best seller and receiving positive reviews and critical acclaim. She has since published a similarly successful follow-up book, Breaking Mum and Dad, focussing on post-natal health and anxiety by offering practical advice to parents.
Her work on tackling mental health issues extends to public healthcare services in the UK, with the NHS commissioning Anna to write a short story to help raise awareness in young children about mental health. Furthermore, Anna is a national spokesperson for The Princes Trust who help vulnerable young people with education and training and is a trained volunteer counsellor with Childline.
Anna is a strong social media influencer, she hosts two highly popular podcasts, Breaking Mum and Dad: The Podcast and Loose Lips: The Podcast, discussing issues ranging from relationship and parenting issues to career related topics. Both podcasts have a strong following and regularly reach the no. 1 spot on iTunes.
Her media personality is prominent as the host of several mainstream television shows, including being a dating expert on Celebs Go Dating (E4), popular breakfast show Good Morning Britain (ITV), Big Brother’s Bit on the Side (C5) and celebrity dating show Single AF (MTV). Additionally, she hosts a number of radio shows including her own, The Anna Williamson Show, on BBC 3 Counties radio.
