21st century challenge: neurodegeneration

Alzheimer's disease accounts for 70% of all forms of dementia and its cost worldwide exceeds 600 billion dollars. As the number of people with Alzheimer’s disease is expected to triple by 2050, finding a cure or prevention is one of the major goals of this millennium. Renowned scientists and successful biotech leaders discuss the challenges and potential of stem cell transplantation, and preventative and pre-symptomatic therapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
