The brain and mental health: increasing awareness and reducing stigma

This session is devoted to recent advances in our understanding of the brain mechanisms underlying mental disorders, such as major depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia with a particular emphasis on novel methods and innovations aimed to increase mental health. The aim of the panel discussion is to raise awareness of mental health stigma, which is still widespread in our society and leads to discrimination at various levels towards affected individuals.
